Concluding Tier 1 of the Impact Series

20 July 2023

The first phase of the INNOV-8-2-CREATE project is now behind us. After mapping to evaluate the existing innovation ecosystems in Ireland, Italy and Latvia, designing and launching a pre-accelerator, here are some initial numbers from the meetings.

The project puts an emphasis on EDI (Equality, Diversity & Inclusion). It aims at encouraging especially women researchers to share their ideas and accelerate innovation within minorities in diverse fields. Statistics from the first phase of the project and the Tier 1 Impact Series showed that the registered participants were in majority women (figure 1).

diversity was achieved in the research and expertise fields of the participants. While most of them had a science and engineering background, almost 10% of participants specialise in business, public policy and law while 6% in arts and social sciences (figure 2).

We hope to see even more diversity and encourage researchers from all fields to join the Innovation Accelerator.
